The Instructional Development Centre's mandate is to provide professional development opportunities for all faculty, instructors and graduate students, as well as academic units and programs, to enhance and develop teaching practices that reflect Lakehead University's commitment to student-centred learning.  The Centre offers workshops, one-on-one consultation, peer evaluation, guest speakers, and other resources.

Teaching and Learning at University:
Training Options for Graduate Students

The IDC offers two professional training options for Graduate students.Information on both programs is provided on this site.
1. The Graduate Student Teaching Practicum (GSTP) is designed to engage graduate students with pedagogy theory and practice through a flexible, largely self-directed process. Students who successfully complete the practicum receive a Record of Completion.
OR
2. The Graduate Student Workshop Option introduces students to pedagogy theory through their attendance at 8 workshops provided by the IDC.
